Every ranking on NocturnHQ is algorithmically determined — no pay-for-position, no editorial bias. Here's exactly how our scoring engine works.
Aggregate score from verified user reviews. Higher-rated platforms rank better across all listings.
Measured by click-through rates, search frequency, and user engagement signals over rolling 30-day windows.
Platforms with more reviews get a confidence boost. A 4.0 with 500 reviews outranks a 4.5 with 3 reviews.
Recent interactions (last 7–30 days) weigh more heavily, keeping trending platforms visible.
Completeness of platform info — descriptions, pros/cons, screenshots, and affiliate presence indicate quality listings.
Platforms matching the specific category or niche context are ranked higher within that context.
Combines recent interaction count (7-day and 30-day windows), review velocity, popularity score, and rating quality. Platforms with sudden spikes in activity surface quickly.
Uses rating score as the primary signal, weighted by review count for confidence. Within a category, platforms are sorted by weighted quality score descending.
Measures shared categories (5x weight), shared tags (2x), pricing similarity (3x bonus), plus rating and popularity as tiebreakers. More overlap = higher similarity score.
